Hello, I'm Emma
I work as a project manager, a parent, and an expat based in Springfield, United States.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Began
Moving to United States wasn't in our long-range plan. As with many expat relocations, it began as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far greater.
The early months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, new expectations. Routine tasks seemed more intricate than they ought to be.
The Adjustment Phase
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and plenty of learning as you go. But over time, routines settled in. We found spots that suited us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Created Simple Grove Studio
Most online information was either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism material. What was missing was an honest, everyday family perspective.
This site aims to fill that gap — practical guidance drawn from real-life experiences in United States.
What this site covers (and what it does not)
This site is:
- Hands-on experience gathered from living in United States
- Centered on family life and day-to-day realities
- Updated when changes are genuinely meaningful
This site is not:
- An official tourism authority resource
- A paid-for review platform
- Just another generic travel blog
Moving Forward
Our time in United States continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains helpful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Springfield or anywhere in United States, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Best regards,
Emma
